The giant mimosa or the giant rain tree is one of the most outstanding tourist attractions which is not much far from the center of Kanchanaburi. Tourists will be amazed and fascinated with this gorgeous giant mimosa.



Moreover, visitors will be surprised with the fact that this giant mimosa is over 100 years ago and the trunk is very huge as it needs at least 10 people to embrace the whole trunk totally. The radius of the tree is approximately 25.87 and the diameter is approximately 51.75 meters. The height of the tree is 20 meters high and it lies on 4 acres land. Nowadays, it is very rare to spot this special kind of tree.

There is no admission fee charged and visitors can come over the place daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The area is under the responsibility of Center of Animal and Agriculture 1. The tree is situated at Baan Kasikam, Moo.5 , Koh Sam Rong Sub-District, Muang District, Kanchanaburi. Visitors should take a highway number 3429 from Kanchanaburi city hall. Go straight and pass by Mae Klong bridge and Mae Klong Police Station. Turn left at Wat Tham Khao Laem junction and keep going straight for 5 kilometers and you will meet with the T-junction. Turn left to the highway number 3209 and keep going until you enter the area of an army center of animal. Later, you will spot the traffic sign that will lead you to the giant mimosa.
