The Sapporo Snow Festival, which is a grand annual festival in Japan, was held the first time in 1950 and had been held annually since then. In 2017 the 16th Sapporo Snow Festival will be held in 6th-12th February! It is a grand annual festival during winter in Japan. Millions of tourists from all over the world visit here every year. At the festival highlight is the ice and snow sculpture contest which you will feel amazed to be in the winter dreamland.  Odori Park (6-12 February 2017)



Odori Park  is a well-known place located in the heart of Sapporo, Japan and extends 1.5 km. The attractive activities in the park are the ice and snow sculpture contest, shows and food vendors. The highlight, which you should never missed during night time, is the light up show which make the sculptures more attractive. Recommend you to go to the top of TV tower to see and memorise the unforgettable impressiveness all around the festival. With the attractive events attracts a growing number of visitor both Japanese and foreigners every year. 


Odori Park  Snow Festival  



Opening Hours :  Odori Park zone Illuminations turn off at 10 pm.

Location : 060-0042 Sapporo, Chuo Ward, Odorinishi, Hokkaido

Transportation :  

  • Take Subway Tozai Line, Toho Line and Namboku line and get off at the Odori Station  
  • Walk for 10 minutes from the Sapporo train station

 Tsudome (1-12 February 2017)

Tsudome  is a multi-purpose hall of Hokkaido, Japan. Here usually holds football match, baseball competitions and other events. During the Snow Festival this site includes activities zone for both children and adult for example snow slide, kayak snow rafting and other amusement activities both indoor and outdoor. For those who love fun activities should visit here because it is spacious and not so crowded as at Odori Park.




Tsudome  Snow Festival  





Opening Hours :  Tsudome zone turn on 09.00 – 17.00 pm.

Location : In the Sapporo Sport Exchange provide snow sliders zone for visitors

Transportation :  Take the Subway Toho Line to the Sakaemachi station, then take the shuttle bus to Tsudome. It takes time about 10 minutes. The fee is 100 Yen per round.

 Susukino (6-12 February 2017)


Susukino  is a well-known fun night zone of Sapporo. This site offers a fantastic ice sculpture  exhibition along the Station Avenue. Illuminations turn on at night. When the light up show begins the ice sculptures reflects the light and turns to be the fantasy world.
